Start stretching now for this aerobic workout dancing to this band playing favorites from Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Earth, Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye and more.

This Lopez grown, nine-piece group was founded by Bill Johnson in the spring of 2012. Bill wanted to put together a band that played music that he grew up with and is fun to dance to. The band is comprised of Nick Teague, Susie Teague, Mehgan Herold and Lisa Geddes on vocals & percussion, Colin Doherty on bass, Bill Johnson on guitar, Hawk Arps on keyboard and Todd Goldsmith on drums & vocals. Also featuring Chris Lehman and alumni member; Kenny Ferrugiaro on vocals. Mark Doelman is coming from Spokane again this year to join in on the saxophone.

As is not unusual on Lopez Island, band members are involved in many projects including farming & livestock, land management, volunteering and they also have day jobs! Their commitment to the community and to their fellow members of the band is a statement to the respectful, loving, talented people that make up Super Wide Groove.

Super Wide Groove rehearses for months in preparation for this show. And show it is! Funky period costumes, orchestrated dance routines, a light show and their joy of playing for an audience bursts from the stage and spills unto the dance floor.

It is a sing-along, dance-along, house party that unites everyone from all ages.

This has been a sold out show in the past, so get your tickets early. Also be prepared for very limited seating as the Community Center converts to one big dance floor.
